PepsiCo has announced a new nutrition goal to broaden its ingredients portfolio in Europe and globally as part of the company’s strategic transformation, PepsiCo Positive (pep+).
By 2030, PepsiCo aims to deliver 145 billion servings of diverse ingredients such as legumes, whole grains, plant-based proteins, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds around the world. Each portion intends to provide around 10% of the recommended daily intake of a diverse ingredients.
Consumption of diverse ingredients such as legumes, whole grains, plant-based proteins, fruits and vegetables, and nuts and seeds might help promote a more nutritionally complete diet, however there is currently an insufficient intake of these ingredients across Europe.
PepsiCo already offers many brands in Europe, such as Alvalle, Benenuts and Duyvis that contain diverse ingredients such as nuts and seeds, fruits, and vegetables, and 100% whole grain Quaker Oats.

New Sodium Targets
PepsiCo, guided by public health associations such as the World Health Organization, has pledged that by 2030, 75% of its global foods volume will adhere to or fall below category sodium targets.
These commitments reinforce the progress PepsiCo has taken globally over the last decade to decrease added sugars in beverages, as well as to reduce sodium and saturated fat in foods. Additionally, the company has revamped existing brands, such as Pepsi Max, 7Up Free, and Lay’s Oven Baked, offering alternatives with enhanced nutritional profiles.
Archana Jagannathan, chief sustainability officer for PepsiCo Europe, added: “At PepsiCo, we rely on a secure supply of more than 30 agricultural crops and ingredients — such as potatoes, corn and oats — from approximately 60 countries to make iconic products that bring smiles to consumers around the world.”
